2006-07 USBWA All-District Coach of the Year

Randy Rahe was hired on March 23, 2006, as the 9th coach in WSU's 45 year history. Rahe came to WSU from the U of U where he was an assistant under former coach Ray Giacoletti. Rahe was also an assistant under Stew Morrill for 13 seasons, first at Colorado State and then at Utah State. Rahe posted a record of 54-17 as a high school coach in Colorado from 1985-88. He has also been an assistant coach at Denver, Colorado, & Colorado College.
In 1982, Rahe graduated from Buena Vista University located in Storm Lake, IA. At BVU he played point guard in basketball and shortstop in baseball.

After Rahe signed a 2 year extension after his first season at WSU:
"I think that's why this extension is so important, because building a program takes time. The kids did a tremendous job, but we still need a couple more recruiting classes to build our foundation. We want this program to be one where every year we feel like we have a chance to compete for a championship. Now we've got the time to really build this and do it the way we want to do it. That meant a lot to me."
